NASAL CPAP
If nasal CPAP has been prescribed for you, we will contact the equipment supplier you have selected and they will make plans to meet with you soon after. Nasal CPAP is a prescription item as determined by federal law. Accordingly, it is prescribed for you by a licensed physician. If you are our patient and need to provide such a prescription for your equipment supplier, we will be happy to provide a prescription for you.
When selecting an equipment provider, consider these three aspects in your decision: cost, convenience, and service.
|
Cost
Most insurance companies cover all or part of the cost of CPAP equipment. Some insurance companies have discount agreements with the equipment providers such that it will be less expensive for you to deal with those companies. Check with your insurance company for details regarding your insurance coverage amounts and any preferred equipment providers. If you are paying cash, do they have cash discounts or payment plans?
|
Convenience
Usually, you will have ongoing requirement for service and supplies from your equipment provider. Consider this can be done with the minimum travel and/or inconvenience to you. Ideally, your equipment supplier will be reasonably near your home or work location.
|
Service
Will your supplies be able to meet all your current and ongoing needs? Do they carry a variety of supplies and accessories. This may be particularly important for Medicare patients as Medicare does not currently permit changing of your equipment company during the rental phase.
