Continuous Positive Airway Pressure Therapy Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) is achieved with the use of a small air pressure generating device about the size of a toaster. This device is electrically powered and is attached to a mask worn on the nose during sleep. This treatment allows the patient to breathe normally at night.
